Finals--Pizza--The Desert Map--Hibernation Day

Finals

Keri and I just finished finals, and I wanted to share with you a story I wrote for our Hermeneutics (Greek for 'Interpretation') Final. It's called The Desert Map! (Keri made up a Memory Game!! But that you would have to see in person). Click the link below if you'd like to read it.

The Desert Map

Above is a Picture of Keri's 3 hour take home essay exam she completed!! Our hands were super sore afterwards. :)

Pizza

In the middle of finals work this weekend, Keri daydreamed about a pizza guy arriving at our door in the middle of studying and surprising us with free pizza and salad. Keri, spur of the moment, posted her daydream on facebook. We continued intently studying for an hour.

Then, a rap rap against our door! And the Pizza guy arrived with a full pizza and salad for us!

He said, "Hey, someone ordered this and paid for you, and said they wanted to remain anonymous. Is it your birthday or something?"

"No. It's just finals." I said, with a big hungry smile. And I didn't pay him :)

We were both extremely glad, and promptly began celebrating with mouthfuls! It was such a blessing because we got to just keep studying right through until 12am! And we didn't have to worry about dinner at all!

(Thank you, whoever you are anonymous pizza donator)

Here is our account of it:

Monday was our last day of school!

Hibernation Day!

We're off to Norcal tomorrow morning, and we're ready for cold weather and christmas rest.

We highly recommend having a "hibernation day" sometime during Christmas. This is an idea we got from a Christmas song by Jars of Clay. Here are the lyrics--it's about taking a day to hide from the world and really, really rest. Oh, how we are looking forward to this!

I don't want to get out of bed
You don't want to go out in the snow
We don't have to do the things Eskimos do
Let's have a hibernation day, me and you

The snow is climbing up the door
(So much higher than before)
The weatherman is sure there will be more
(I don't want to go out in the snow)
These blankets make a cozy little cave just for two
Let's have a hibernation day

I love the snap of winter air
And the snowflakes ob my face
How the snowdrifts make the cars
Disappear without a trace
I'll take a day dressed in pajamas
In a room without a view
If I can spend the day
Curled up next to you

  1. What an awesome blessing! Maybe you should up the ante when you tell the facebook world about your dreams?

You had a dream that someone paid your rent... You had a dream that someone gave you a vacation to Hawaii...
